tah daaah!

HI!
Oh.My.Goodness. How I have missed typing. but I kind of can't too well because my nails are kind of long. Luckily I haven't been called out on it at work.
So I am sort of online on a signal that does not belong to me. Whose? Eh. That is why this will be quick
I am settling in to the new apt. I may never live with anyone again. I LoVe it! I am painting very fun happy colors, and I will post pics on that another time. Getting organized is not easy. But I did figure out my craft closet, which is pretty awesome. I bought a table at Ikea that folds at the sides, but is pretty big and nice wood. That will be the scrappy table. & if I ever invite more than the 3 that can be seated at my 4 seat dining set, than I will bring that one out.
Well I have promised some LO's, and here they aaare!

Here is Lilah with her daddy! I called this daddy's little girl. I had lost some of my inspiration after 2 previous LO's and cards. I don't know why it is, that I start scrapping up a storm, and then pffft. The inspiration dies... Does that happen to you?

Taking the picture of the card was more inspiring than the creation of the card...Even if I do really like it...

Now this is where most of my creativity went. I really like this LO. I'm sorry I don't have any close ups. But I used a variety of embellies, which, I do think I am getting better at. This is my cousin with his son and father. I called it "3 reasons to be happy". I'm so cute :o)

Wow that's a lot of sunlight in the background. I have to figure out when and where it's best to take pictures here. But this little guy has made me smile all over again. (oh, der, this is from the green stack from DCWV. duh). And that is my chaise. I sat on it and made my tooshie happy. But try not to notice the unfinished pole in the background. I paint when I can. Thank you.

And thiiiis page. Sigh. To love or not to love. Sometimes I do cus it's so colorful and fun. Other times I don't like it cus it's just...well it kind of... it sort of like... you know? Maybe it's the design that has me confuzzled... You decide...

But this card leaves no doubt in my mind that I love it! I cut out some hearts from the paper and made them into a flower. Even the leaves are the green hearts. This card makes me smile =0) (except I have eyebrows. And my nose isn't a third of my face.)

Well there you go. I'm wondering why I'm a little bland today. I think it maybe because I worked last night and I'm pooped. Not to mention the fact that I had a horrid night that made my feet hurt so bad I can barely walk. Yup.

I would like to share another hobby that occupies my craft closet:
Crochet.
I made this diaper bag for a coworker friend who just had a baby boy. The bag took me forever and half a day. Then of course there was left over yarn, which turned out to not be enough that I had to get more of in order to finish that blanket. Where scrapbooking amps me up, crocheting mellows me out. It's so nice to make things that can actually be used.

I hope I haven't bored you to death. Cus I'm feeling a bit sleepy myself.

Well I think it is best I be off to bed before I lose any followers.
You guys are the greatest.
expect maybe PDRNC. because shes never at work. >=/ yea. that's my mean face. the eyebrows just grew in.

Night Night

Hello!

Wow, it's like getting a call from the great beyond, you just can't believe it!
Well I am in school right now, thankfully not taking classes. But I came up here to take care of a few things. I didn't know I was going to have to use the computer, so I did not bring my USB... Argh. So out of touch with a keyboard that my usual 55 words per minute have been greatly diminished. I have to double check my spelling errors or someONE ::ahem:: will be on me like white on rice.

But I just wanted to update you on me. I have barely scrapped and it hurts. I did a few pages like a month ago, and that is it. I have them ready to be shown. But alas, I suck.

On the plus side. drum roll please...

I'm moving! Finally! This one is not a scam. I am actually moving this saturday. I called the super who will give me my keys saturday and I will be in! It's so sad though, as I pack, I have more boxes of scrappy, crafty goodness than I do of things I actually need. Not that I don't neeeed scrapbooking, but I need clothes and soap. ( I do have soap, I'm just saying I have more paper than I do soap... Meaning I have to buy soap...oh I hope you get it...) So I have like 6 medium sized boxes of scrap stuff, not including my albums and paper. . .speaking of paper... it's HEAVY. Try picking up all your stacks and collections at once. You can't. Luckily I have someone helping me move, and not someone who will charge me by the pound...

Well as soon as I get installed I will work on getting internet. That way I can tell you all about it! And of course get to showing you scrappy goodness!

I miss you guys!

p.s. Welcome new followers! Sorry I haven't been able to show you any new good stuff. But please don't drop me! I'll get better, I promise! (and thank you for those who haven't left me and have shown great patience. You are AwEsOmE!

Winner!

It was a steal!

Thank you Joanna for this:
Feb 5 you asked how we get inspired for a card. Since I've just recently made several for birthdays, mother's day, father's day I have to say, I just scraplifted. Found something I kind of liked and transformed it into my own for the person I was making the card for. I'm still new to this and so I use sketches for my layouts and scraplifting to find my inspiration.
By Joanna on Gooood Morning! on 5/10/11

So Please email me @ colombean_ny@yahoo.com with your address and I'll mail out to you on Monday! You are greatly appreciated =)

Oh, and you are too PDRNC =P

Gooood Morning!

Ugh I am such a morning person I gross myself out!

Well I am doing my best to live without the computer. It sucks. But that does leave more time for studying and scrapping, so I am here to share my layouts! (cus you don't want me to try and teach you anything I've learned...)

So this LO is one I did of my little cousins, when they were smaller :sniff sniff:. I was being annoying and cut out the flower from the paper (this is the green stack[?] from DCWV. don't worry, it's not a DCWV post...this time). So here they are sitting on a rock at the river looking all angelic and such. Too bad I don't have the next picture which is her pulling his ear laughing and him screaming... drats.

Now, I was going through my scraps. & I realized I have way too many. So I figured that every time I make a LO, to diminish the scraps, I will be making a card. (yea, lets see how long this lasts....). I cut the birdies out and added some musical notes (hand drawn). Not bad on the card if I do say so myself...

& this one! you may recognize the paper if you've seen previous LO's. It's from the Recollections collection at Michael's. The design is also pretty the same, but I can't help it! I love the vintage paper with the tears in it! I did some machine sewing (as opposed to hand stitching...never mind, bad joke... moving on...) And some blingy in a corner. I couldn't get the left over thread to stay in the back. Although I don't remember it having been out front when I was finished. hmmmm...

Here's the card. I'm being uneventful...

I think this one is my favorite. I love the colors and the patterns. Luckily I didn't have to go out and buy them and that someone bought them to me. Or else this picture would have stayed sitting on my shelf looking for inspiration for another 6 months. Sad isn't it, when you can't finish a LO because the colors or papers you have don't inspire you...?

Here's a little closeup. I had to add a big of glitter to the flower. I just haaad to.

I will be more eventful with this card because I love it! The patters of this paper are so awesome! I hand cut some butterflies and backed them up with some black paper so you could see them better...

Speaking of seeing them better...

So that is my update for you!

Now. On to what I promised. I have made some flowers and personally hand cut bunch of butterflies. & since I don't want to fill up on cards, I'm putting these 3 in the envelope. I'm just going to ask you to do the following:
I tend to ask a lot of questions in this blog, and I don't get any answers! Find a question and answer it. Today's post will not count! Just state the date and question with your response. I will be randomly selecting a winner. & since I don't have internet, I will be back on Friday to see who's responded. Now get to it! Tell your friends!

I'm hoping the giveaways get better. But I'm pretty sure my blood and sweat aren't too bad. =)

On My Knees...

Begging please...
DON'T HATE ME!
I have been so MIA that I have lost a follower (or so I was told since I haven't met any of the lovely new faces that are following). To all of those who have stuck around I thank you. You can't understand how much you mean to me.

I have to tell you that I have barely been online. See I get to go online at school, occassionally when my Calculus teacher isn't really paying attention... But I've snuck upstairs to the computer with internet for a few moments to tell you I'm here. You can't understand how much I've missed blogging, let alone scrapping. I finally made a LO the other day. Since I'll be missing school due to a new job position and training, I'll sneak in to upload those.

Again, I thank you for being patient with me. & I most definately have not forgotten abou the giveaway, that is sitting in its envelope so patiently...

xoxo

Waah!

That's me crying. Crying because there is no WiFi and the only way I can log in is when no one is home upstairs or I am in Calculus (don't friend my professor-wherever she may be). Aw, I hear the wails of lamentation and despair (or that could just be my rumbling belly - it's almost dinner time).

Hm. This is interesting. It seems that when I don't have a layout, I don't have much to say.

::crickets::

Well, that was just me telling you this will be a boring month.

Or maybe not.

Maybe I will have something for you to look forward to. ::hint, hint::

It requires some paper cutting on my part. & some patience on yours (mine too).

La di da.

and she's on a roll!

buttered, please.
(sorry, I couldn't help the corny opportunity)

But I am back! yay! Are you proud of me Lisa?
So rather than do my lab homework, or my calculus homework, I felt the need to scrap. & scrap I did! On to the LO's!
(wait, before we get to the LO's, since it is a blog, I feel the need to vent. So today I had chemistry lab and this prof. mandates two things: 1. the lab manual. He will NOT accept photocopied labs. Boo. But fine. 2. Chemical splash proof goggles, which, if you have ever taken a chem lab, is a duh. Now, maybe it's because I've had lab before, but I knew this and I won't argue with it. But holy crapsicle sticks was there complaining and excuses and annoyances! There were more than 5 people without the goggles and the lab manual. You would not believe the amount of complaining and the size of the excuses; "I don't know whyyy i can't just copy them, waste of my money; I didn't get my financial aid check (but the iPhone made it to her house safetly); I'm wearing glasses;" yack yack yack! I think that college is lacking a level of maturity. But that is all I'm going to say about that. . . for now.) Now, on to the LO's!

This LO is called Happy Food Face, well, because it's the happy face my friend makes for food. Everything here is cosmo cricket. (This design is my interpretation of a sketch for the scrapbook.com cosmo cricket challenge) (yes, that was my disclaimer)

Isn't that little bugger cute? I cut it out from the paper or it would have ended up in the trash!

Here is another close-up. I am proud of my stacking embellies skills. I am working on them. The circles represent what were supposed to be buttons. But I wasn't sure if CC carries their own line of buttons and the LO is supposed to be 90% CC so I improvised.
(oh, and thanks to Delaina Burns, who made me realize that scalloped borders did not have to be of equal length or distance) (hopefully she has inspired you too).

& just one last little butterfly to show you... Do you see the orange cardstock? That's the white cored DCWV, I think it's from the Brights stack... or maybe the Christmas stack... :sigh: I just use a nail file, starting from the edge to the middle in a circular motion.

This next bad boy isn't so bad. It's called "Sometimes, you can find Love in the strangest places".
Can you see the heart on the bottle? Well, one of the nurses in the ICU freaked out (happily) when she saw the heart. I think it was because of the way the light reflected in the room and through the bottle. It was just so nice to see it there, in a pt's room...

(there you go...)

Paint splatters and a doodled dragonfly... for the paint splatters, use a medium dry brush dipped in paint. Use your fingers to fan out the brush, which will make the paint fly off the brush (when I say splatter, I mean, almost everywhere. Dont load the brush!). Or you could use a toothbrush and scrape across the top; it will produce the same effect.

Here I doodled the title, the cloud and the little hearts. yay! Oh, duh, this was done for another challenge on scrapbook.com, caaaalled, take a guuuuess... the doodle challenge! I like doodling. It's very helpful when you don't have anything to match what you have... Or don't have anything to match your picture... at all...

Pretty heart and cloud! Also doodled by moi. (that's freeench, for "me") (I'm gonna learn how to speak russian) (random, i know...)

ick. This picture isn't lookin' so hot. Someone out there needs to teach me to take pics of my LO's. I might have to start scrappin in the day... O.k. So I am a hoarder. Not really but sorta. I see things and say "hey, I can use this on a LO..." (I usually don't answer myself). So I had this really sturdy clear plastic sheet that came in handy for this LO. I made a little flourish to bring your attention to the heart. I didn't crop the bottle because I wanted to convey where the "love" was. I hope it worked.

and I just felt like throwing in this card... The flower was from a flower swap. I thought it might be too big, but lo and behold, a wonderful fit...

How do you scrappers get inspired for a card? I can't get it. Some cards look soOooOoo nice, and I can't do it! I don't know if it's because I have yet to break my own idea of what a scrappy card should be... I think that's the trouble most new scrappers have. We all get stuck in the idea of what a card or LO should look like, that we can't just scrap our own style. I discovered that to be true in painting. I always wanted to do these elaborate, detailed gorgeous paintings, that I couldn't and would just frustrate myself and quit. But I recently said "eFF that" and just went with it. I ended up with some stuff I'm proud of. One of these days I'll post them. But I just wanted to get that out there...Scrap what you think is an awesome page!

O.k. I'm tired. Too much typing. Too many feelings. LOL
You guys are wonderful
thanks for reading.
